Paleokerisio

"Nectar Of the Gods" Ioannina, Greece

A bit of a greek freak; a semi-sparkling/semi-dry orange wine made in a traditional way from a blend of a predominantly white variety with a small amount from a red variety, both endemic to this region. It's superbly soft and drinkable with a light, balanced sweet sensation that will captivate the inner kid in you. The natural fizziness reveals the richness of flavours and aromas with a sweetness that blends in with all the other elements. This is a 500ml bottle, limited availability.

INFO ON GROWER

Made from the local, indigenous grape Debina with a splash of Vlahiko, it spends 12 days macerating on its skins before it’s bottled in the middle of fermentation resulting in a funky, demi-sec, orange, lightly sparkling wine that defies categorization. Medium-bodied with light tannins, tangy spice notes and citrus peel balanced by a touch of honey blossom, it’s amazing as an aperitif alongside a cheese board with nuts and apricots.

I was very luck to have one of these bottles as a gift from a friend of mine who introduced me to natural wine, and I have to say that I was extremely happy and surprised with the quality of this lovely greek wine ?

  2. Will

Love this, so refreshing yet sweet. Crisp and fruity. Pleasant on its own or with food. Something special for sure.

  3. Laurent Gibb

not bad, but is not the best either

  4. Heather Field

A bottle for the wine club: a delightful surprise, enjoyed greatly at the end of an evening. Yum I say!

Too sweet for me, not that complex – possibly my palate isn’t advanced enough for this one but is a bit sweet a bit bland

  6. Johanna Hardy

Clearly everyone has a different take on this wine, but we thought it was exceptional. Bright and punchy, a cheeky little number to rival any sparkling wine on the market.. small bottle so buy several, it goes too quickly

    Gorgeous.
    Enjoy.

A great way to start a late summer afternoon! Light and crisp, an orange, yellow colour that matches the fruity apricot of the wine.
